Welding Simulator weld grades: A, B and C

Welding Simulator grades each weld with a letter. The badge list shows the scale: a C or better passes, a B is a clean weld, and an A is a perfect weld described as stacking dimes like a pro. The developer's stated goal for players is to earn an A on every weld.

The grade scale

GradeBadgeBadge text (paraphrased)
C or betterCertified WelderPass your first weld
BSkilled WelderLay a B-grade weld, clean work
AMaster WelderEarn a perfect A on a weld

Whether there are grades below C, and exactly how the score is calculated, has not been published. Speed, bead spacing and staying on the line are plausible factors, but the developer has not confirmed them, so this guide does not list them as rules.

What the developer emphasizes

Those three phrases are the only technique guidance on the official listing. Each method's in-game tutorial is the authority on controls.
